The facility, which is part of the national ethnic radio channel project, is installed at an altitude of around 1,200 metres, with a total investment of approximately VND8.5 billion (US$373,150), funded by the VOV.
With its FM signals covering an area of nearly 8,000 square kilometres, the 10kW FM transmission will bring national radio programmes to about 200,000 ethnic people in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, and a part of Laos.

The facility is of significance, contributing to accelerating socio-economic development and disseminating the Party and State’s policies to ethnic minority communities in mountainous regions.
On the occasion, VOV Director General Nguyen The Ky and Nguyen Nhu Khoi, Director of the Nghe An provincial Radio and Television Station, presented 2,000 radios to secretaries of grassroots Party committees and the heads of hamlets in mountainous areas to the west of the province.
