Vice President visits officers and soldiers of Navy Zone 2

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited and presented gifts to military officers and soldiers of the Navy Zone 2, who are stationed in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province on August 1.

The Vice President praised the unit’s achievements over the past years, expressing her belief in the determination, aptitude, capacity and responsibility of every naval soldier in realising his assigned task.

She asked the naval officials and soldiers to thoroughly grasp Party and State’s guidelines on safeguarding maritime sovereignty in the current circumstances while staying alerted to thwart plots by hostile forces and maintaining combat readiness to protect the country's sovereignty, sovereign right and jurisdiction in its waters.

Rear Admiral Pham Van Vung, Political Commissar of the Vietnam People’s Navy, pledged that naval officers and soldiers are always completely loyal to the Party, Fatherland and people, and are willing to embrace every hardship to admirably fulfil their assigned tasks and support fishermen at sea.

On the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City-based Hung Thinh Corporation presented VND28.5 billion to 36 islands and the DK1 platform, Nguoi Lao Dong (Labourers) Newspaper presented 1 million national flags to fishermen.
