The programme, which will be implemented from April 22 until the end of Covid-19 epidemic is announced nationwide, aims to care of and support youths and students who are living in difficult circumstances due to the impact of the pandemic.
Under the programme, aid measures are divided into two main groups, including supporting essential supplies to help epidemic-affected people stabilise their daily lives as well as providing them with jobs as well as good living and studying conditions.
The assistance measures will focus on helping young workers who worked in manufacturing areas and industrial zones and have become unemployed due to Covid019; rural youths affected by the epidemic; disadvantaged students, teenagers and children; youths with disabilities; the poor people in urban areas; self-employed labourers who lost their jobs; and employees with dangerous diseases.
In order to solidify the programme, the HCYU Central Committee will set up price-stabilisation shops for young workers in industrial zones, unemployed labourers as well as organise 100 trucks to help rural youths consume agricultural products and provide food for people.
In addition, a “1,000 jobs” campaign will be launched to help young workers who have become unemployed due to the impact of the pandemic with part-time, seasonal and online jobs.
The Vietnam Youth Federation will also donate millions of free meals to poor people; meanwhile, the Vietnam Students' Association will present free and discounted telecom packages, scholarships and courses to help students learn online. One million glasses of milk will be offered to children who are living in difficult circumstances.
At the ceremony, Permanent Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan called for donations from agencies, organisations, enterprises and individuals in the country and abroad.
