Tay Ninh Province strengthens cooperation with enterprises in Japan’s Kansai

The Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee in coordination with the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka (Japan) held the “Tay Ninh Province Investment Promotion Conference in Kansai Region” to promote international trade and investment.

The programme took place on November 17 at the headquarters of the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka, with the participation of Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Viet Nam in Osaka; Pham Tan Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies and more than 150 Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises.

Speaking at the conference, Pham Tan Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, emphasised that Japan has always been one of the province’s key partners. Tay Ninh currently has 176 Japanese foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with total investment capital exceeding 1.26 billion USD, ranking fourth among the 40 countries and territories with investment projects in the province.

The vice chairman expressed hope that cooperation, trade, and investment activities will continue to be strengthened in the coming period, particularly in priority areas such as high-tech industry, energy, logistics, digital transformation, renewable energy, and smart urban development. Tay Ninh commits to being a safe, attractive, and sustainable destination for Japanese investors, especially enterprises and corporations from the Kansai region.

At the conference, Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Viet Nam in Osaka, said that Kansai is one of Japan’s leading industrial and economic hubs, home to many major corporations and high-tech enterprises. Therefore, Tay Ninh’s expansion of cooperation in this region will open new investment opportunities. He affirmed that the Consulate General will continue to support the province in connecting, promoting and implementing effective cooperation projects between the two sides.

Within the framework of the conference, the Viet Nam–Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association and the Department of Industry and Trade of Tay Ninh Province signed a cooperation agreement to promote investment and trade connections and support enterprises of both sides. The agreement will help facilitate Japanese investors to survey the business environment, promote new projects, and expand cooperation in the industrial supply chain.

During the event, Kobe Port and Long An International Port also signed a memorandum of understanding aiming to enhance logistics capacity, expand maritime transport routes, and strengthen the supply chain between the two countries.

Apart from economic, trade and investment activities, the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee also paid special attention to the Vietnamese community in Japan. At the ceremony, the province presented a “Vietnamese Bookshelf” to the Vietnamese community in Kansai, thereby contributing to the preservation of the mother tongue, spreading Vietnamese culture, and strengthening bonds between local authorities and overseas Vietnamese.
