Tree-planting campaigns launched to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday

Provinces and cities across the country launched a tree-planting campaign, on March 19 to marking the 133rd birth anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh.

The People's Committee of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City launched tree-planting campaigns at the Park of Culture and National History, on March 19.

The launch ceremony was attended by General Le Hong Anh, former Politburo member and former Permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and other leaders and former leaders of the Central and City.

Responding to the Government's tree planting programme for the period 2021-2025, Thu Duc City strives to complete 1 million trees in the area, by 2025.

Also, on the morning of May 19, at the Park of Culture and National History, Thu Duc City, the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (OV) Affairs organised a delegation of overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, to participate in activities responding to the tree planting festival, themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho”, on the occasion of the 133rd birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh.

Dac Nong province also held tree-planting activities across 71 communes, wards, towns and agencies and units, throughout the province, on May 19.

Right after the launch ceremony, delegates and people in Gia Nghia city planted 1,000 trees around N'Trang Long Monument.

It is expected that more than 163,000 trees will be planted throughout the province to celebrate the 133rd birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh.

On the same day, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, and Binh Duong provinces also launched the tree planting festival, themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho”, to mark the 133rd birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh.
