To prepare for the clashes against Indonesia, scheduled for March 21 and 26, Troussier summoned 33 players to start training from March 13. However, sessions on techniques and strategies only began on March 16.

After nearly one week of training, the final list of 28 players was announced on March 18, with the five names dismissed including Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Hai Long, Do Duy Manh, Truong Tien Anh, and Giap Tuan Duong.

Among the five disqualified players, the most prominent names are Cong Phuong and Duy Manh, who were excluded due to their injuries.

Under the plan, the Vietnamese team will fly to Indonesia on March 19 for the first-leg match scheduled to take place at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on March 21.

The team will then return home to prepare for the second leg, which is set to be held at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on March 26.
