Speaking at the meeting with voters, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan praised and congratulated the socio-economic achievements of An Giang Province and Long Xuyen City in recent times.

She noted that An Giang Province should consider changing its economic development structure because, for a long time, the province's agricultural economy still accounts for 40%, the industrial economy is still low, while industry creates material wealth and creates budget revenue and expenditure.

Informing about the Party and State's policies and guidelines, she said that the Party Central Committee is implementing Resolution 57 to transform the level of socio-economic development, production, production level, and production methods to science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

For the merger of provinces, such as An Giang and Kien Giang, firstly, because An Giang Province is about 3,500 km2, Kien Giang Province is more than 6,000 km2, so when merging, the larger area will offer room for economic development, developing large-scale, high-quality economic production models.

An Giang has mountains and hills, and Kien Giang Province has the sea and islands. The Party Central Committee wishes that all localities have sea to develop the marine economy, develop maritime and waterway transport to develop logistics, reduce road transport costs; when the provinces merge, the quantity and quality of human resources will be improved.

The comrade shared that the General Secretary has repeatedly mentioned that it is necessary to create the best conditions and environment so that all Vietnamese people have jobs, participate in labour production to create material wealth for society with increasingly high labour productivity.

Therefore, in the near future, the Politburo will have a resolution on developing the business economy, creating an environment for all people, including officials and civil servants who no longer work in state agencies, to do business.

With a new environment, there will also be many opportunities for people and officials who no longer work in state agencies to work, produce, provide services, create material wealth for society, as well as income for themselves and their families.
