Voters in Tam Ky and Hoi An expressed strong support for the policy on merging provincial-level administrative units, abolishing district-level administrative units, and reorganising commune-level administrative units.

Voters in both cities also agreed with and supported the plan to merge Quang Nam province with Da Nang City to take advantage of development resources in the new phase.

However, many voters also suggested that the central government carefully consider the name of Quang Nam and Da Nang after being merged and the location of their administrative centre.

Some voters proposed that the central government study and implement support policies for part-time commune-level officials, workers in agencies, administrative units, and socio-political organisations affected and laid off due to the implementation of the administrative unit merger policy.

In addition, many voters called on the central government to pay greater attention to policies for those who have meritorious services to the revolution, and to continue investing in the expansion of National Highway 1A through Quang Nam Province. Currently, nearly 30km of the highway running through the districts of Duy Xuyen, Que Son, Thang Binh, and Phu Ninh still only has two lanes for cars in each direction, with no lanes for rudimentary vehicles or pedestrians, which poses serious traffic safety risks.

He stated that the merger of Quang Nam and Da Nang is a major policy of the central government intended to foster stronger development in the Quang Nam region in the future.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai also met and presented gifts to former members of the Standing Board of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee from previous terms.
