Video: Widespread heatwave expected across Northern and Central Viet Nam from June 2

According to the meteorological authorities, a widespread heatwave is expected to affect the Red River Delta and the north-central region from June 2, with hot conditions likely to persist for several days. However, as showers and thunderstorms are still forecast during the late afternoon, evening, and night, the intensity of the heat is not expected to be as severe as the spell experienced in late May.

The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported that hot weather was recorded in the western mountainous areas stretching from Thanh Hoa to Hue on June 1, where maximum temperatures generally ranged between 35°C and 36°C, with some locations exceeding 36°C.

The heatwave is expected to expand across the Red River Delta and southern Phu Tho Province from June 2. Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 35–36°C, with some areas experiencing temperatures above 36°C.

During the same period, the north-central and central regions are also likely to experience hot weather, with some areas facing severe heat. Temperatures are expected to range from 35°C to 37°C, with certain locations surpassing 37°C.
