The decision was issued in accordance with current regulations of Vietnamese law on cinema, including Circular No. 05/2023/TT-BVHTTDL, stipulating criteria for film classification and the display of classification ratings and warnings; and Circular No. 17/2022/TT-BVHTTDL, stipulating standard forms used in cinema-related activities; together with the proposal of the director of the French Institute in Viet Nam and the opinions of the Department of Cinema.
Accordingly, the French Institute in Viet Nam is authorised to organise the “French Cinema Rendezvous 2026” film programme at the French Institute in Ha Noi, in coordination with partners, from January 1 to December 31, 2026, to hold film screenings in a number of localities across Viet Nam.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires that films participating in the programme may only be screened after being granted film classification certificates in full compliance with Vietnamese law.
The Chief of the Ministry’s Office, the director of the Department of Cinema, the director of the Department of International Cooperation, the director of the French Institute in Viet Nam, and relevant organisations and individuals are responsible for implementing this decision.
