This assessment was featured in an article published by the French economic news website Objectif Eco on July 2. The article notes that economic relations between Viet Nam and Europe are entering a new phase of development, with the focus shifting beyond trade expansion towards investment cooperation, innovation, the green transition, and the development of resilient supply chains.

According to Objectif Eco, European businesses enjoy significant opportunities in sectors where they hold strong expertise, including industrial technology, food processing equipment, water resource management, logistics, healthcare, education, professional services, energy, automation, and solutions that support sustainable development. The article also highlights the elevation of relations between Viet Nam and the European Union to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in early 2026, emphasising that the upgraded framework will provide fresh impetus for cooperation in trade, investment, digital transformation, the green transition, energy, climate action, and supply chain resilience.

The publication observes that, amid growing global economic uncertainty, relations between Viet Nam and Europe are no longer centred solely on expanding merchandise trade. Instead, both sides are prioritising building secure supply chains, strengthening industrial cooperation, and fostering long-term partnerships.

Objectif Eco concludes that opportunities for cooperation between Viet Nam and Europe are greater than ever. However, turning this potential into tangible outcomes will require businesses on both sides to prepare thoroughly, gain a deeper understanding of each other's markets, identify the right partners, and pursue long-term development strategies.

The next stage of Viet Nam–Europe relations will be determined not only by the volume of trade, but also by the quality of cooperation, the level of innovation, and the ability of both sides to create sustainable long-term value together.
