The competition seeks to cultivate a body of screenplays of both ideological and artistic merit, offering profound reflections on the nation’s history while commemorating major anniversaries of the Party, the State, and the armed forces.

Eligible entrants include writers from both within and outside the military, encompassing Vietnamese citizens as well as overseas Vietnamese living, studying, or working either at home or abroad. There are no age restrictions.

Screenplays must align with significant forthcoming national anniversaries, addressing key themes such as revolutionary wars and the post-war era; the contributions of earlier generations; battles, witnesses, and historical events not yet fully portrayed.

In addition, submissions are encouraged to depict contemporary soldiers, presenting the image of a modern, elite army proficient in science and technology, engaged in national defence, disaster prevention, search and rescue.

The organisers also welcome works exploring soldiers’ family lives; the role of Vietnamese families and women; studying and following the thought, morality, and lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh; soldiers stationed at borders and islands; Party building within the military; military science, healthcare, digital transformation, and the application of scientific and technological advances in national defence and public health.

Entries must clearly specify the theme, subject, film title, timeframe of the story, structure, and cast of characters. Authors are required to provide a brief introduction outlining the concept, ideological theme, and message of the work, accompanied by a content summary of no more than 500 words.

Outlines should be submitted to the Editorial Department, People's Army Cinema, 17 Ly Nam De Street, Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi, by May 15, 2026.
