The conference of the ABPA’s Executive Committee will take place on September 15, at the Ho Chi Minh City Press Centre.
At the conference, the ABPA members will review the current status, exchange experiences and propose solutions to strengthen cooperation in the publishing industry, in the region, especially in the context of extensive digital transformation and international integration.
The conference will focus on topics such as reviewing the current status of the publishing industry of the ABPA member countries, setting forth orientations to promote intra-bloc cooperation, enhance exchanges and copyright transactions and deciding which country will assume the rotating presidency of the ABPA for the 2024-2025 tenure.
Pham Minh Tuan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine and President of the VPA, said the delegates will contribute ideas to further strengthen current activities and further promote the association's role in the regional and international arena.
A wide variety of practical activities will be held on the sideline of the conference, including an international scientific seminar themed “Protecting book copyright in cyberspace”, on the afternoon of September 15, and a book exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh and Party and State leaders.
The scientific seminar will be a forum for Vietnamese scientists, policymakers, managers, and publishing units to exchange experiences and solutions with Southeast Asian countries, to strengthen the effectiveness of copyright protection in the publishing sector, in the context of digital transformation and international integration.
Tuan also expressed his wish for ABPA member countries to jointly issue a common statement, to contribute to preventing book copyright infringement in general and in cyberspace, in particular.
To celebrate the conference, an international book exhibition will be organised on Ho Chi Minh City's Book Street from September 14-16, featuring about 100 book titles about President Ho Chi Minh and other Party and State leaders.
