The event was attended by Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee (PCC)'s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, and Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia, among others.
At the ceremony, the delegates listened the Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s congratulatory letter to the book publishing, printing and distribution sector on its 70th anniversary.
Speaking at the event, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong highly valued the great contributions made by the sector’s workforcewhile affirming that the book publishing, printing and distribution sector has promoted its role in preserving and disseminating knowledge and cultural values.

He asked the sector to continue to maintain the perspective that publishing is in the cultural-ideological domain of the Party, State and people as well as being a part of advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
On the occasion, five elder officials who made great contributions to Vietnam’s book publishing, printing and distribution sector were honoured. Meanwhile, 81 cadres with outstanding achievements received certificates of merit.
Earlier that day, the delegates paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and House No. 67 under the President Ho Chi Minh relic site.

In addition, Chairman of National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue met and congratulated the representatives from the book publishing, printing and distribution sector.
