The Arts Council includes leading experts in the fields of fine arts, photography and exhibitions; leaders of management agencies, professional associations; and representatives of fine arts training institutions, researchers, and prestigious and experienced artists.
The exhibition is not only a display activity but also an opportunity to look back at the development of Vietnamese visual arts, from the early days of independence, national construction to the renovation and integration today. This is also a chance to honour the sustainable artistic values cultivated by generations of artists.
“The exhibition is an opportunity to look back at the development of Vietnamese visual arts, with works meeting clear criteria for artistic value and content, reflecting the depth of the artist's thoughts and emotions before the movements of the country. Besides traditional themes such as revolutionary war, many artists have expanded their perspectives with contemporary themes such as urban life, nature, environment, socio-economic development, and national cultural identity. Through materials, techniques and styles of expression, it can clearly see the spirit of innovation and integration of Vietnamese fine arts,” commented Dr. Dang Thi Phong Lan, Principal of the Viet Nam University of Fine Arts.
Many representative works, bearing the mark of the times, were selected to be introduced at the exhibition.

According to painter Luong Xuan Doan, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association and Chairman of the Art Council, this exhibition brings together outstanding authors with works of artistic value and depth of content.
“Since the day Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence, the country has gone through many historical stages, from resistance war, construction to innovation and integration. Fine arts and photography have accompanied the flow with diverse forms of expression. The exhibition demonstrates the continuous creative journey and the spirit of continuity of generations of artists,” he said.

“The exhibition not only aims to honour the achievements of the past 80 years, but also contributes to spreading cultural and artistic values to the public at home and abroad, contributing to affirming the role of Vietnamese fine arts in the cultural life in the region and the world,” affirmed Ngo Tuan Phong, Deputy Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition.
Through many rounds of careful evaluation, the Art Council selected 250 works — 100 photos and 150 fine arts works — to be showcased at the exhibition.
