Addressing the meeting, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said he was very impressed by Vietnam during his visit to the country last November and affirmed that developing the a mutually beneficial and co-operative friendship with Vietnam is a priority in the Ukraine’s foreign policy.
FM Olexandrovich praised positive development of the traditional relationship between Vietnam and Ukraine, saying he hopes the two countries will continue exchanging high-level delegations and enhancing the function of the Vietnam-Ukraine Intergovernmental Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Co-operation.
Ambassador Nguyet affirmed that Vietnam and Ukraine have enjoyed productive co-operation in politics, security and defence, economics, trade, culture and tourism, education and training, particularly their close co-operation and mutual support within organisations and international forums such as the United Nations.
She also spoke highly of the role the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs played in strengthening and developing the bilateral relations with Vietnam.
Ambassador Nguyet took the occasion to convey Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh’s invitation to Olexandrovich to visit Vietnam, which was accepted with pleasure.
