The K-Vietnam Valley Project (the Viet Village Project) has been implemented in Bonghwa County from 2023 to 2033 with a total investment of approximately 200 billion KRW, funded by the county budget, Gyeongsangbuk Province, and support from relevant agencies of the RoK Government.

The project is being built in Bongseong Commune, Bonghwa County — the only location in the RoK that still preserves relics of the Ly Hoa Son family, which traces its origins to the Ly Dynasty of Viet Nam. The project includes facilities such as the historical site of the Vietnamese Ly Dynasty, a centre for experiencing Korean–Vietnamese historical and cultural content, a multicultural international school, a vocational linkage centre, a resort area, and other components.

To date, the Viet Village Project has completed several facilities, including the community building; the installation of the statue of King Ly Thai To; the garden; and several surrounding landscape features.

The project management board has also organised a number of meaningful activities and events, such as incense-offering ceremonies in honour of King Ly Thai To, global Viet Nam–RoK exchange events, and the opening of Vietnamese language training courses for teachers instructing children from Viet Nam–RoK multicultural families and Viet Nam–Viet Nam families residing in the RoK.

In 2026, alongside the continued implementation of construction components of the project, Bonghwa County plans to coordinate with the Embassy of Viet Nam to the RoK to organise a series of meaningful activities to commemorate the 800th anniversary of Prince Ly Long Tuong (Ly Hoa Son) settling in the RoK.
