On July 17, at the headquarters of the Western Australia Police Force, Pham Hai Anh, Consul General of Viet Nam in Perth (Australia), held a meeting with Western Australia Police Commissioner Col Blanch.

Welcoming Consul General Pham Hai Anh at the start of his term of office in Western Australia, the Police Commissioner expressed his favourable impression of the country and people of Viet Nam. He also highly praised the Vietnamese community in the state for their hard work, law-abiding spirit, and positive contributions to the development and cultural diversity of Western Australia.

Emphasising the State Government's and the Police Force's commitment to promoting cultural diversity and community-based policing, Western Australia Police Commissioner Col Blanch expressed his hope that more Vietnamese people would join the state police force, thereby contributing to a more diverse workforce and enabling policing activities to become more closely connected with local communities and more effective.

Consul General Pham Hai Anh thanked Commissioner Col Blanch personally and the Western Australia Police Force for the support and assistance they have provided to the Consulate General's activities in recent years. He also proposed that the Australian side continue to cooperate closely, provide timely support for activities promoting solidarity and Vietnamese culture, and assist with the protection of Vietnamese citizens whenever necessary.

Against the backdrop of growing cooperation, business, tourism and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, Consul General Pham Hai Anh suggested that the police forces of Viet Nam and Australia should strengthen cooperation in sharing experience, capacity-building and training, as well as in professional law enforcement cooperation at both the national and local levels in accordance with the needs of both sides.

The two sides agreed to continue close coordination and mutual support in activities in Western Australia, while further promoting bilateral cooperation in the coming period.
