This marks the first time that the Vietnamese golf team has ever won medals at an Asian Youth Games, affirming a solid step forward for this still young sport on the continental stage.
The Vietnamese golf team at this year’s tournament included four young golfers: Doan Uy, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Le Chuc An and Nguyen Vu Hoang Anh. After three days of determined competition, the team impressively claimed two silver medals in the men’s individual and men’s team events.
In the men’s individual category, golfer Nguyen Tuan Anh delivered an outstanding performance, especially in the final round when he completed 18 holes with 66 (-6), scoring 7 birdies and only 1 bogey. This is the second consecutive time he has competed for medals at a major international tournament, demonstrating remarkable progress and maturity in a short period of time.
In the men’s team category, Nguyen Tuan Anh continued to play a key role, teaming up with his teammate Doan Uy to secure a total score of -14 strokes for Viet Nam.
In the women’s competition, golfers Le Chuc An and Nguyen Vu Hoang Anh contributed strong efforts to the team’s overall performance, helping Viet Nam finish fifth in the women’s team category.
The 2025 Asian Youth Games is one of the continent’s most competitive youth sporting events, bringing together young talents from leading golf nations such as China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Thailand.
At the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese golf team won three medals, reflecting both consistency and steady growth. The team’s next goal is the 33rd SEA Games, scheduled to take place this December in Thailand.
