The event is part of a government initiative, implemented by the Voice of Viet Nam (VOV), to celebrate Vietnamese language and culture abroad in the 2023 – 2030 period.
The gala showcased the achievements of vocal classes led by People's Artist Duc Long, who has taught over 7,000 Vietnamese across Germany over the past 15 years. Nearly 60 songs were performed, echoing themes of nostalgia and love for the country.
Despite demanding jobs in service sectors, participants devoted weeks to rehearsals, culminating in a final run-through that extended past midnight. Many traveled hundreds of kilometers to attend, setting aside daily hardships to connect through Vietnamese music and language.
Speaking at the event, artist Duc Long expressed joy at seeing his long-held dream come true—using music to unite Vietnamese souls abroad. His classes have drawn students from age 8 to 78, often inspiring whole families to join.
For many families, especially second- and third-generation Vietnamese, music has become a powerful tool for language learning and cultural bonding. The event reflects a broader effort to strengthen the Vietnamese community’s cohesion and cultural identity in Germany.
