Vinmec International General Hotel-Hospital opens in Hanoi

Nhan Dan Online- The Vingroup five-star Vinmec International General Hospital, was inaugurated in Hanoi today after 10 months of construction.

Vinmec International General Hospital is part of the modern Times City Urban Complex at 458 Minh Khai Street in Hanoi. It has been developed following the international standard Hospital – Hotel model with modern facilities and architecture, state-of-the-art equipment and top quality services.

Vinmec covers approximately 2.5 hectares and comprises two basements and seven floors above ground, with a gross floor area of 60,000m2. The hospital has 19 departments and 31 specialties with intensive care and high-tech units, and more than 600 consultation and inpatient rooms. Most notably, VINMEC is the first hospital in Vietnam to offer private rooms, including 25 VIP rooms and two Presidential Suites with 5-star accommodations to meet every patient's needs.

Along with its up-to-date infrastructure and facilities, Vinmec has a team of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated specialists, doctors and pharmacists, 90% of whom have postgraduate degrees. Approximately 20% are Professors or Associate Professors; 30% have Doctoral degrees and 40% have Masters degrees . Vinmec also offers international standard nursing by well-trained, highly specialised nurses providing high-end health care services.

Politburo member, Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi and PCC member, Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Nguyen The Thao were among leaders visiting the hospittal today.

Addressing the hospital's inauguration, Party Central Committee member and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien highly praised Vingroup's efforts to complete the construction according to plan, bringing another high-quality hospital to Hanoi.

“With its state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment and team of highly qualified staff, Vinmec will be a reliable hospital providing top quality health services to people in the city. Its more than 600 rooms will also help ease the overloaded public hospitals in Hanoi,” said the Minister.

Deputy Chairman of Vingroup Le Khac Hiep said: 'The Vinmec hospital is not simply an investment. It plays a crucial role in society and represents practical action in implementing the Party and State policies for the socialisation of community health care, and will help improve social welfare and promote the development of the Vietnamese heath care industry.”

He added that Vingroup is committed to making VINMEC the top international hospital in Vietnam and Southeast Asia; a prestigious address for high-quality healthcare services and an exemplary international-standard hospital in Vietnam.

To celebrate the occasion, Vingroup has sponsored a VND50 billion (around US$2.4 million) fund to provide free health care for the poor and people who have contributed to the national revolution. Vingroup has also donated VND50 billion to the Ministry of Health, VND30 billion of which is to expand the Oncology Centre at Bach Mai Hospital to alleviate its overload, and VND20 billion for building and operating 10 clinics in remote and isolated areas.
