As part of the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) Hanoi 2025, the VITA Awards ceremony took place in Hanoi on April 10, celebrating outstanding tourism organisations, businesses, and individuals.

Speaking at the event, Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, shared that over the years, the VITA Awards have inspired pride, innovation, dynamism, and creativity within the tourism business community and among professionals.

“This award motivates individuals and organisations in the tourism sector to continuously improve service quality, develop new tourism products, and build strong business brands. Honouring outstanding tourism businesses and workers also raises awareness among authorities and communities about tourism’s vital role in economic and social growth,” she added.

In 2024, Vietnam’s tourism industry welcomed approximately 17.5 million international visitors, an increase of 38.9% compared to 2023. Total revenue from tourism reached an estimated 840 trillion VND (32.64 billion USD), up 23.8% year on year. These impressive figures reflect the sector’s collective efforts in recovery and advancement.

Lan also emphasised that this year’s awards ceremony deeply integrated “green tourism” criteria across all sectors, from travel and accommodation to gastronomy and destinations. The Vietnam Tourism Association has disseminated these standards to local and regional tourism associations, sparking a nationwide green transformation wave.

At the event, the 2025 Emulation Programme titled “Vietnam tourism rising into a new era — The era of green and digital transformation” was officially launched, signalling the association’s long-term strategic vision and strong commitment to sustainable tourism development.
