VN-Index loses 11 points as property stocks slide

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index fell by 11.41 points on April 14 to close at 1,052.89, driven by a plunge in the property sector’s shares.

The total market capitalisation for the three stock exchanges of HNX, HOSE and UPCoM reached more than 15.384 trillion VND.

Real estate shares in the red included NVL (-2,10%), KDH (-3,90%), VCG (-2,00%), PDR (-4,30%), HDG (-2,90%), TCH (-3,80%), CII (-3,20%), CRE (-3,00%) and HHV (-2,30%).

Banking stocks were mixed, with shares going down between 1% and 4.3% for TCB, STB, SHB, VIB, MBB, BID and CTG, while VCB, EIB, LPB and MSB inched up between 0.2% and 2%.

Shares of several manufacturing companies such as DHG, VHC, HSG and PAN rose, while others witnessed steep declines, with GEX and PHR down by 4.5% and 4.4% respectively.

In Hanoi, the HNX-Index closed down 1.23% to 207.25 points, while the HNX30, comprised of 30 companies with the highest market capitalisation, fell 2.52% to 370.01 points.
