Workshop seeks solutions to develop fishing industry

A workshop on developing the link chain and raising the brand name of the Vietnamese fishing industry was held in Vung Tau city, in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau on March 31.

The event was jointly held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper, and the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

At the workshop, delegates proposed solutions to enhance linkages to develop the fishing industry; develop a value chain and elevate the brand name of Vietnamese shrimp; analysed the current status and solutions for sustainable development of the Ca Mau crab industry; and the model of aquaculture, combined with tourism of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

Also, within the framework of the workshop, the Organising Committee announced the second phase of a forum on developing the fisheries for sustainable fishing and aquaculture.

In addition, Tuoi Tre Newspaper has and will deploy more topics on aquaculture and seafood exports, as well as discuss policies and solutions to introducing farming models, impressive export seafood products and investment cooperation opportunities.
