Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the Congress, Hang said the event welcomed the participation of more than 100 ambassadors, chargés d’affaires and representatives of international organisations, along with nearly 100 foreign journalists.

Among the 112 ambassadors, chargés d’affaires and representatives of international organisations in Viet Nam, there are 21 non-resident ambassadors and chargés d’affaires.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) coordinated the reception and arrangements for diplomatic representatives to attend the opening and closing sessions. For non-resident envoys, additional sideline activities are scheduled, including visits to localities, scenic sites and cultural and historical landmarks in Ha Noi.

In terms of media coverage, 79 foreign journalists and assistants from foreign press offices in Viet Nam have been accredited to report on the Congress. In addition, the ministry has invited 17 journalists from abroad, including three overseas Vietnamese reporters, to Viet Nam to cover the event.

Beyond covering the Congress itself, the MoFA plans separate working programmes for foreign journalists and overseas Vietnamese reporters. These include field trips to selected localities, as well as cultural and economic sites in Hanoi and other provinces and cities.

According to the deputy minister, the primary aim of these activities is to enable international delegates and journalists to witness first-hand Viet Nam’s socio-economic achievements, as well as the country’s security and defence situation, culture and foreign relations.

Through these efforts, the foreign ministry hopes to further spread to the international community the image of a peaceful, developing Viet Nam with a rich cultural identity and, above all, the warmth and hospitality of its people.
