The event was jointly organised by the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and related agencies under the theme “Music Convergence and Reach.”
In his opening remarks, Major General and composer Nguyen Duc Trinh, President of the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association, said the festival offers a valuable opportunity for composers, performers, and young talents nationwide to exchange experiences, introduce new works, and strengthen creative connections. He stressed that these artists represent the future of Vietnamese music and contribute to building a modern, culturally rich national identity.
The festival’s works focus on themes such as the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the country’s renewal and defence, love for the homeland, Vietnamese culture in the era of integration, and international friendship.
The event features two main categories: the composition festival, showcasing new songs and instrumental works created in 2024–2025; and the performance festival, including vocal and instrumental solo pieces selected by participating artists.
Over 600 musicians and artists from 38 branches of the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association nationwide are attending, presenting more than 185 performances across seven competition programmes.
A highlight of the festival is the “Viet Nam–China Symphonic Friendship” concert, performed by the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) in collaboration with Chinese artists.
The festival is part of activities celebrating the successful conclusion of Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, while also marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and China (1950–2025). It also launches the “Viet Nam–China Humanitarian Exchange Year,” aiming to enhance cultural and musical cooperation between the two countries.
The event runs from October 29 to November 2, 2025.
