This event was also one of many meaningful activities to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Border Guard Force’s Traditional Day and the 37th anniversary of the National Border Guard Day. The ceremony was also attended by forces currently serving on the island, contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the military and the people in this southernmost frontline island cluster of the Fatherland.

The delegates attending the gathering respectfully laid flowers and offered incense at the monument commemorating the Hon Khoai Uprising, expressing their profound gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fell for the cause of national liberation and the protection of national independence and sovereignty.

One of the highlights of the event was the launching ceremony of planting trees along the flower-lined road, a joint effort between the Women’s Union of Dat Mui Commune and the Hon Khoai Border Guard Post.

This practical activity not only creates a green, clean, and beautiful landscape for the island but also spreads the spirit of working together to protect the environment and build a cultural life in the coastal border area. Simultaneously, cultural and artistic exchanges and thematic activities for women members also took place.

On the occasion, the Border Guard forces combined this with a campaign to raise awareness about Viet Nam’s seas and islands, as well as the strategic position and role of the Hon Khoai island cluster.

Through this, women’s association members and local people have raised their awareness and gained a better understanding of the importance of the southernmost island region, contributing to enhancing their sense of responsibility in protecting sovereignty and maintaining security and order.
