Thanh Dat won 201.3 points, 1.3 points more than Thai runner-up Tortungpani Napis, and 21 points ahead of bronze medalist Lim Wen Yi Abel of Singapore.
After qualifying for the individual finals, Nguyen Duy Hoang turned in a sub-par performance, ranking sixth among the eight finals competitors with 139.4 points.
Earlier in the morning, Dat, along with teammates Duy Hoang and Phung Le Huyen, brought home another silver medal in the team discipline with a total score of 1837.6 points.
