Another six gold medals for Vietnam at SEA Games

Nhan Dan Online - Six additional gold medals were won by Vietnamese athletes on December 13 - one in shooting, two in wrestling, two in karate and one in weightlifting.

Trio Hoang Xuan Vinh, Tran Quoc Cuong and Nguyen Hoang Phuong secured Vietnam's first gold in today's competition in the men's team 50m slow fire pistol, earning a total of 1,649 points.

The wrestling team added two more gold medals to Vietnam's total thanks to Vu Thi Hang in the women's 48kg and Can Tat Du in the men's 74kg discipline.

Karate artist Nguyen Hoang Ngan won the women's Kata singles event while her teammate Lang Thi Hoa claimed the women's 68kg Kumite singles crown.

Weightlifter Thach Kim Tuan clinched the men's 56kg gold medal with a total lift of 285kg and broke two SEA Games records with a snatch lift of 129kg and clean and jerk lift of 156kg.

Vietnam also won four more silver from Le Quang Trung (men's 62kg, weightlifting), Hoang Quy Phuoc (men's 100m freestyle, swimming), Nguyen Thi Anh Vien (women's 400m freestyle, swimming), and Tran Duy Khoi and Phan Gia Man (men's 200m medley, swimming).

Additionally, six bronze were added to Vietnam's medal collection in canoeing (1), kayak (1), petanque (1), badminton (2), and weightlifting (1).
