The event was attended by more than 200 delegates from Vietnamese enterprises, Vietnamese-origin businesses operating and investing in Cambodia, as well as Cambodian enterprises across various sectors.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu expressed his satisfaction at the notable progress in the traditional friendship and comprehensive, mutually beneficial cooperation between Viet Nam and Cambodia in recent years, particularly in trade, investment, and tourism.

He noted that economic cooperation continues to be a bright spot in the overall bilateral relationship. Two-way trade reached a record 11.3 billion USD in 2025, up 11.7% compared with 2024, and in the first three months of 2026 reached 3.44 billion USD, an increase of 4.3% year on year. Viet Nam is currently Cambodia’s third-largest trading partner and fifth-largest investor, with 223 projects and total registered capital of nearly 3 billion USD.

Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu highly appreciated the investment and business activities of Vietnamese enterprises in Cambodia, stating that they play a significant role in the country’s socio-economic development, creating jobs for local workers, contributing to the state budget, and actively engaging in social welfare activities in localities.

Many outstanding Vietnamese enterprises investing and operating in Cambodia, such as Metfone, BIDC, Viet Nam Rubber Group, and Thaco Agri, have been recognised and highly appreciated by the Cambodian Government.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu, Business Dialogue 2026 provides an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises seeking to invest and do business in Cambodia to better understand the investment environment and opportunities, thereby enabling them to develop effective and appropriate business strategies.

The Embassy has always listened to and recorded recommendations from Vietnamese and Vietnamese-origin enterprises to relevant authorities of both countries and works with Cambodian agencies while reporting to Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities to help address issues and create a favourable investment and business environment.

Oknha Leng Rithy, Chairman of the Viet Nam–Cambodia Business Association, said that the event is an annual forum aimed at sharing experience, strengthening connectivity among enterprises in investment and business activities in Cambodia, and updating the latest information on investment incentives and policies from both sides.

On behalf of the association’s leadership, he affirmed that the association aims to serve as a strong bridge, supporting Vietnamese and Vietnamese-origin enterprises in Cambodia in gradually resolving policy and institutional challenges, while helping new investors access the Cambodian market in a transparent and effective manner.

At the opening session, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and Cambodian delegates agreed on their high appreciation of the significance of the programme, affirming that Business Dialogue 2026 has helped concretise strategic orientations on new economic mechanisms discussed by the leaders of the two countries during the official visit to Cambodia by Party General Secretary To Lam in early February.

Within the framework of the event, at discussion sessions on healthcare, agriculture, information technology, and digital transformation, delegates exchanged policy information, explored investment and business opportunities, shared practical experience of doing business in the “Land of Pagodas”, and put forward recommendations to the governments of both countries.
