Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the SBV's Payment Department speaks at the press conference on the Cashless Day 2025 programme.

At the event, Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the SBV's Payment Department, stated that the 2025 edition marks the seventh year of the Cashless Day initiative, carrying a clear and meaningful message: cashless payments are not just a transaction method but a strategic foundation connecting all components of the digital economy.

He emphasised that this foundation is crucial to building a tightly interconnected, smoothly operating, and increasingly complete digital ecosystem, thereby bringing Viet Nam closer to a modern, transparent, and inclusive economy.

According to Tuan, the SBV highly appreciates the initiative, persistence, and social responsibility demonstrated by the organising units in maintaining, expanding, and improving the quality of the event. Their efforts align with the Government's and SBV’s broader goals for cashless payments, national digital transformation, and inclusive finance.

A highlight of this year’s programme is the “Ting Ting Day” festival, to be held on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in Ho Chi Minh City. The event will feature payment technology experiences, mini games, workshops on digital transaction security, a live music concert, and the launch of a nationwide promotional campaign.

The programme is expected to attract 50,000 in-person attendees and reach approximately 50 million online views, strongly spreading the spirit of digital living and digital consumption throughout the community, thereby contributing to economic growth.

In addition to the main festival, the Cashless Day 2025 will feature other notable activities, including the “Financial Arena” game show running from May 20 to June 15, where young people will compete in financial knowledge and personal finance management skills.

A seminar titled “Cashless Payments – A Driver of Digital Economic Growth” will be held on the morning of June 14 in Ho Chi Minh City, summarising five years of the initiative and discussing future solutions to advance digital payments.
