According to Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial People’s Committee, Chan May Port is located in the country’s centre between the two largest central cities of Hue and Da Nang, on route to the East Sea via the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam with Laos, Thailand and Myanmar.

The province has planned to turn the port into a multi-functional facility with a number of other upgrades scheduled to be carried out in the coming time, Cao noted.
