The visit was made towards the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro's visit to the newly-liberated area in the south of Vietnam in Quang Tri, during the anti-US resistance war (1973-2023).
Speaking at the reception, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province Nguyen Dang Quang, gave an overview of the potential, strength, and socio-economic situation of the province and the profound imprints of Cuban leader Fidel Castro,for the Vietnamese people in general and Quang Tri in particular.
The people of Quang Tri have always had deep feelings for the Cuban people and Cuban leader Fidel Castro, he noted.
Quang Tri always attaches importance to the role of the press, the press agencies of Quang Tri province, as well as the representative and resident offices of the Central press agencies located within the province, he added.
For her part, Arlin Alberty Loforte expressed her honour to visit and work in Quang Tri, as well as her deep impressions of the love of the leaders and people of Quang Tri and the strong development of the province.
The close and fine relationship and cooperation of the two countries' press and media have made an important contribution to consolidating and tightening the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, she noted.
