The films include “Zu Weit Weg” (Too far away), “Atlas” (The Mover), “Grüsse aus Fukushima” (Greetings from Fukushima), and “Amelie Rennt” (Mountain Miracle – An Unexpected Friendship).
The films will take audiences to Japan's Fukushima prefecture after an earthquake in 2011 or to Tyrol, Italy, where the stubborn Amelie is dealing with her asthma.
The selected films were produced very recently and capture the prevailing themes in Germany.
The films will be shown at 8 p.m. on Saturday evenings, with one per week, on the Goethe-Institut website https://goethe-on-demand.de. After the online screening, each movie will be available for the following week so that audiences can easily follow it.

In the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, staying at home and not going out when there is no need, online learning and working from home have become familiar parts of our lives. However, with the desire to bring moments of relaxation and entertainment while sharing about German Culture, the Goethe-Institut has selected the films to introduce to audiences on this occasion.
German Film Week is an annual event organised by the Goethe-Institut Hanoi, introducing a wide range of contemporary German cinema works, with genres ranging from family films, comedies and psychological films to children's films.
