Forty five artists from the internationally acclaimed orchestra will perform classics by Mozart, Brahms and J. S.Bach under the baton of renowned German conductor Thomas Dorsch.

Soloists Vasko Vassilev on violin and Pamela Nicholson on piano, along with promising young soprano Duyen Huyen from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, will bring the audience a harmonious new experience of East and West, traditional and contemporary.

Duyen Huyen will perform ‘Una donna a quindici anni’ from Mozart's ‘Cosi Fan Tutte’ and ‘La Petenera’ from ‘La Marchenera’ by F. Moreno-Torroba.

This is the first time the 26-year-old soprano will perform in such a prestigious event. “It is a great pleasure and honor for me to participate in the Toyota Classics 2011 concert at the Ho Chi Minh City Theatre, especially with the Northeast German Philharmonic,' she said.

“I hope that together we can convey the passion of Mozart’s and Torroba’s works, presenting color and life to the audience.'

Dang Phan Thu Huong, Vice President of Toyota Motor Vietnam, said the concert will allow Toyota Vietnam to make more contributions to Vietnam's social development as the money from ticket sales will go towards charitable, cultural and educational activities.

The Toyota Classics concert, jointly organised by Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Viet Nam in co-operation with the Vietnam Performing Arts Centre under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, debuted in Vietnam in 1997 and this is the 14th time it is being staged in the country.

Tickets for the 8pm concert are available at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, district 1. All the proceeds will go to the Toyota Scholarships for Young Vietnamese Music Talents.
