Over 500 works for television from 102-television production units will compete in nine categories including children's programmes, documentaries, reportage, science and educational programming, dialogues and discussions, ethnic language programmes, musical programming and movies.

The entries reflect the country’s political, socio-economic and cultural achievements as well as other current issues such as eliminating hunger and reducing poverty and combating corruption.

The annual event aims to honour producers, directors and camera crews, as well as outstanding works produced for television that have provided insight into the daily lives of the people of the country. It also offers an opportunity for television workers to exchange and share experiences, helping to provide the best television programs for audiences.

The festival also offers a chance to promote the image of the land and people in Quang Ninh province, including Ha Long bay.

Additionally, seminars, a forum to exchange experience in the field of TV broadcasting, an exhibition, and a broadcaster-audience exchange will be held under the main framework of the festival.

The opening ceremony and closing ceremony will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) Channel 1 and Quang Ninh Television.
