Hosted by the University of Economics – The University of Da Nang and partner institutions, the conference serves as an international forum for presenting research and promoting collaboration between universities, research institutes, professional organisations, businesses and government agencies.

This year's conference focuses on a broad range of topics, including accounting standards, financial reporting, auditing, corporate governance, corporate finance, financial markets, banking, sustainable finance, financial technology (FinTech), digital finance and international financial integration.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, described ICOAF 2026 as one of the key academic events of Da Nang Economic, Finance and Technology Week 2026.

He said the conference comes at an important time as Da Nang seeks to establish itself as an international financial centre, as well as a regional hub for innovation, high technology, the digital economy and high-value services.

"Alongside investment in infrastructure and institutional reforms, the city places particular importance on knowledge, science and technology, innovation and the development of a highly skilled workforce," Minh said.

He added that discussions at the conference would provide valuable insights and practical recommendations to support Da Nang's plans to develop an international financial centre, while encouraging closer cooperation between universities, research institutions, businesses and local authorities in policymaking, financial market development and talent training.

Around 100 domestic and international delegates are attending the conference. In addition to a plenary session, the programme includes eight parallel sessions featuring 58 research papers on accounting, corporate finance, risk management, sustainable finance, FinTech, digital finance and global financial integration.
