The three projects, comprising construction of DT770B and the upgrading and expansion of DT769 and DT773, have a combined investment of nearly 12 trillion VND. The initiative will require the acquisition of roughly 730 hectares of land for their implementation.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the more than 42km-long DT770B project was held in Binh Loc Ward. The route will pass through Xuan Bac, Gia Kiem, Dau Giay, Xuan Que, Xuan Duong, Long Phuoc, Phuoc Thai, Binh Loc, and Xuan Lap Wards and communes. The project has a total investment of approximately 4.7 trillion VND and will require more than 370 hectares of land.
Under the first-phase design, the road will have a cross-section of 45.5m, comprising six lanes for motor vehicles, two mixed-traffic lanes, and a 9.5m-wide central median.
Once completed, DT770B will connect the eastern and north-eastern areas of the city with Long Thanh International Airport, industrial parks, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway, National Highways 51, and the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port complex, driving the completion of the transport network and promoting socio-economic development.
Earlier the same morning, Dong Nai City also kicked off the upgrading and expansion projects for DT769 and DT773.
DT769 stands as the most critical of the three routes as it will provide a direct connection between Gate No. 2 of Long Thanh International Airport and National Highways 1 and 51. The approximately 29km-long project has a total investment of nearly 2.8 trillion VND.
The route will begin at the Dau Giay intersection on National Highway 1 in Dau Giay Ward and end at the Loc An intersection on National Highway 51 in Long Thanh Ward. It will be upgraded and partially rebuilt to accommodate six to eight lanes, with approximately 134.4 hectares of land to be acquired.
The DT773 upgrading and expansion project stretches approximately 39km through Xuan Hoa, Xuan Loc, Xuan Phu, Xuan Dong, Cam My, and Xuan Duong wards and communes. The route extends from National Highway 1 to Huong Lo 10 Road and connects directly with Ring Road 4-Ho Chi Minh City.
The road will be built with six to eight lanes, while land clearance will be carried out in line with the project's full planned scale to facilitate future expansion. The project has a total investment of about 4.31 trillion VND and will require more than 224 hectares of land.
Under the plan, DT769 is scheduled for completion in 2027, while DT770B and DT773 are expected to be completed in 2028.
According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the investor of the three projects, once operational the routes will form an integrated transport network linking Long Thanh International Airport with National Highways 1, 51, and 56, Ring Road 4-Ho Chi Minh City, and expressways across the region.
The projects are expected to alleviate the strain on the existing transport network, shorten travel times, and create more room for the development of urban areas, industrial parks, and logistics centres in Dong Nai City.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony for DT770B in Binh Loc Ward, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh emphasised that the launch of the three projects marked not only the start of new transport infrastructure works but also an important milestone demonstrating the determination of the city's Party organisation, authorities, and people to build a modern, synchronised transport system that will provide a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development.
