Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and a working delegation inspected efforts to overcome the consequences of a storm and flooding that occurred on the night of July 24 and the early morning of July 25 in Muong Pon commune, Dien Bien District, Dien Bien Province.

He requested the evacuation of residents and property from dangerous areas, ensuring no one is left without a living place, food, or other essential supplies, while also preventing serious disease outbreaks and environmental pollution, and avoiding serious impact on students’ learning.

He also visited and presented gifts to families who suffered loss of life and property in three villages: Tin Toc, Ban Linh, and Muong Pon 1. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang encouraged the families to try to overcome the pain, and at the same time overcome all immediate difficulties while joining hands with local authorities and relevant agencies to clean up the villages, and soon stabilise their lives.

On the same day, the Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long inspected the damage situation and the efforts to overcome the consequences of storms and floods. He also visited and presented gifts to families affected by the floods from July 22 to 31 in Phieng Nghe Village, Chieng Den Commune, Son La City.

The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive spirit and timely participation of the leaders of Son La Province and the rescue forces of the province and city in responding to floods and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; as well as the proactiveness and self-awareness of the people in preventing natural disasters.

In the immediate future, the Prime Minister has decided to provide VND 10 billion in emergency support to Son La Province. With the province's balanced capital, the province was urged to continue to carry out rescue work, take care of families with deceased people, and continue to support the construction of houses for people.
