Dien Bien hands over 35 houses to people in flash flood hit area

On the morning of December 28, the Dien Bien District People’s Committee and Dien Bien Province Military Command coordinated to hand over 35 houses to 35 families affected by flash floods in Muong Pon Commune at the end of July 2024.

Nguyen Thai Binh, Chairman of Dien Bien District People's Committee, said that of the 35 houses, there are 17 houses of people in Huoi Ke residential area (in Linh Village); 18 houses of people in Tin Toc 2 Village and Muong Pon Village.

The entire cost of building houses for 35 families was used from the fund of the Ministry of Defence, with an average of 50 million VND/house.

In addition to the support fund, under the direction of the Ministry of Defence, Military Region 2, Dien Bien Provincial Military Command also sent more than 100 officers and soldiers from Regiment 741 to Muong Pon to directly build houses, support families in dismantling and moving houses and assets to rebuild new houses.

Thanks to the enthusiastic support and responsible working spirit of each officer and soldier, so far, more than 80 families in the Muong Pon flash flood area have new and stable houses.
