On the occasion, through social mobilisation, 110 houses worth 50 million VND each were presented to households in 11 mountainous districts of Nghe An.
Nghe An has the largest natural area in the country, with the mountainous area in the west of the province accounting for 83%. The western region of Nghe An consists of 11 districts and towns, with 27 communes of 6 districts bordered by three provinces of Laos. The region's population is nearly 1.2 million people, more than 491,000 of whom are ethnic minorities.
This is an area where socio-economic life is still relatively difficult, especially the poverty rate is higher than the provincial average.
On the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - 2023), the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee launched a programme to support the construction of houses for needy people in the province for the 2023-2025 period.
By the end of 2025, Nghe An strives to have basically no poor households living in dilapidated, damaged and makeshift houses.
