Their mission is to extend Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings and festive cheer to officers, soldiers and residents stationed on the islands.

The day began early, with the final shipments being loaded onto the vessels. Among the carefully packed items were banh chung (square sticky rice cakes), an array of sweets, vibrant decorative plants, and essential supplies, all chosen to help the officers, soldiers and residents on Truong Sa celebrate Tet with the same joy and completeness as those on the mainland.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Thieu affirmed that this trip also serves as a morale booster for the forces who are tirelessly protecting the nation's sacred sea and sky. He also conveyed affection, solidarity and unwavering trust from the mainland to Truong Sa.

Col. Ngo Dinh Xuyen, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, expressed his hope that the journalists accompanying the delegation would capture the essence of the islands' changing lives through their honest reporting.
