Construction of the bridge began on November 28, 2014 under the BT (built-transfer) model which required an investment of over VND510 billion (US$22.44 million) including VND5 billion (US$220,000) reserved for land clearance.
The reinforced concrete bridge has a length of 746m and a width of 10m in addition to two approaching roads of 1,674m. Construction of the bridge was completed after 13 months; 11 months ahead of schedule.
The bridge connects road No.414 in Hanoi with road No.317 in Phu Tho, contributing to completing the transport system in the northern region.
The bridge is of great importance to the socio-economic development strategies of Phu Tho, Hanoi and other northern provinces, which are aiming to implement the government policy on improving the transport system in the northern region and expand the benefits of a prosperous Hanoi Capital to other north-western provinces whilst promoting the economic, cultural and tourism connection between northern provinces.
