The event saw the presence of former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan along with 300 delegates representing more than 9.2 million revolutionary contributors across Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, PM Chinh underscored that over the last 76 years, the Party and State have paid special attention to activities such sa these, issued a number of policies to support war invalids, martyrs’ relatives and other revolutionary contributors, and consider these an important and regular political task.

On behalf of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other Party and State leaders, the PM voiced his admiration for the strong will and efforts made by war invalids, martyrs’ relatives, and other revolutionary contributors to move forward and continue dedicating their strength, wisdom, and talent to supporting their families, hometowns, and the nation.

The Government leader emphasised that over revolutionary periods, especially the struggles for national independence and reunification, defence of the border, and the performance of international missions, generations of Vietnamese people have bravely devoted their lives to national construction and safeguarding the people’s peace and happiness, and many have fallen down or sustained wounds.

He also highlighted the development of the “Paying the Debt of Gratitude” movement in society, the building and upgrading of martyr graves, cemeteries and monuments, as well as the fruitful search for, repatriation and identification of martyr remains; as well as pointing out the difficulties facing revolution contributors.

PM Chinh asked all-level administrations, sectors, and localities to continue properly implementing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, further promoting the care for the contributors, and overhaul related policies and legal regulations to help make up for their disadvantages.

He also underlined the need to increase communication to educate young people on the country’s history, at the same time calling on revolutionary contributors nationwide to continue upholding their traditions and dedication, setting bright examples for the younger generations to follow.
