Notably, the decision states that tollbooths that have already installed an electronic non-stop toll collection system must immediately put the system into operation.

Meanwhile, tollbooths that have yet to install the electronic non-stop toll collection system must switch to the use of electronic non-stop toll collection by December 31 this year.

The progress of non-stop toll stations managed by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation will be decided by the Ministry of Transport and the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises in accordance with the capital source of the project.

In addition, new toll stations built under new highway construction projects must conduct electronic non-stop toll collection as prescribed.

The Decision No.19/2020 will replace Decision No.07/2017, dated on March 27, 2017, and is expected to remove the ‘bottlenecks’ of the current project on non-stop toll collection.
