The first ‘For National Green Environment’ 2013 contest, co-organised by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, Food and Health Magazine, and Vnpaco Media, aims to motivate and encourage businesses to apply new eco-friendly science and technology in their operations and environmental protection activities, and to raise public awareness on environmental issues and people’s health.
From over 200 registered entries, the organisers selected 80 businesses which met the requirements of the contest to grant the title, such as fully implementing environmental regulations, promoting environmental protection commitments with detail plans, and having no negative impacts on the environment during business production and operation, and thoroughly treating solid waste and waste water before dumping and developing effective initiatives in implementing environmental protection measures.
The organising board decided to hold the contest annually as an activity to mark World Environment Day.
