Exhibition commemorates 100th birth anniversary of late PM Vo Van Kiet

An exhibition opened in Can Tho City, on November 22 under the theme ‘Late Prime Minister and Political Commissar of Military Zone 9 Vo Van Kiet and comrades who contributed to the establishment and development of Military Zone 9’.

The exhibition is among the activities being held in Can Tho City to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of late PM Vo Van Kiet (1922-2008).

The event displays nearly 300 images, documents and artefacts, on late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet and his comrades, namely late General Secretary Le Kha Phieu (1931-2020), who served as Deputy Political Commissar of Military Zone 9 during the 1979-1981 period; late President Le Duc Anh (1920-2019), who served as Commander of Military Zone 9 during the 1969-1973 and 1976-1978 periods; late Vice Chairwoman of the State Council Nguyen Thi Dinh (1920 – 1992); and late Deputy Defence Minister Tran Van Tra (1919-1996), among others.

During their revolutionary career, the comrades showed great devotion to the Mekong River delta and made remarkable contributions to the establishment and development of Military Zone 9’s armed forces.

The exhibition aims to educate the country’s glorious revolutionary tradition to the younger generation while inspiring patriotism and responsibility among officers and soldiers of Military Zone 9.
