Exhibition honours 135 outstanding role models inspired by President Ho Chi Minh

The Ho Chi Minh Museum inaugurated the exhibition “Ordinary yet noble examples” on May 18 in celebration of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19, 1890 –2025) and the 10-year review of the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and practice of his ideology, morality, and style.

Organised under the direction of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, this marks the 13th consecutive year the exhibition has been held.

The event honours 135 exemplary figures—71 collectives and 64 individuals—selected from more than 600 nominations nationwide. These honourees exemplify the ongoing national movement to live and act according to Ho Chi Minh’s principles.

Divided into two main sections, the exhibition first highlights the nationwide adoption of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example since his passing. The second section features touching and inspiring stories of everyday citizens who have contributed greatly to their communities. Each story is a testament to courage, compassion, and a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Notable examples include Nguyen Thi Sau, a nearly 90-year-old woman from Binh Duong, who has quietly provided free breakfasts for poor students and workers for years. Another is Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Quan, a police officer who heroically rescued four people from a fire in Quynh Loi, Ha Noi in 2024.

According to Dr. Vu Manh Ha, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the exhibition not only honours these role models but also reinforces the values and teachings of President Ho Chi Minh, encouraging each citizen, family, and organisation to continue spreading acts of kindness and positive change.
