The event attracted the participation of President Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Phan Anh Son, Vice Chairman of Vietnam-India Parliamentary Friendship Group Luu Van Duc, diplomats, prominent members of the Indian community, scholars and friends of India.

The five-hour celebration showcased diversified hues of India - energetic cultural performances, henna art, an Indian food festival and an exhibition of Indian handicrafts, garments and other products.

Visitors to the fair were introduced to traditional costumes of people from different states in India, folk dances and music, and the practice of yoga from the South Asian country.

The festival aimed to honour bilateral friendship and foster people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and India.

An award ceremony of a painting contest on Buddhist Architecture in India and Vietnam was also held on the occasion.

The contest, which was among activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – India relations, drew more than 4,250 entries. The organising board presented 27 prizes to the best entries in the contest.
