Growing up in the context that the country was lost and the houses were destroyed, and witnessing Vietnamese people's struggles against the French colonialists in different directions failing one after another, patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh was determined to depart to find a way to save the country. Travelling across five continents and four oceans, immersing himself in the lives of people to explore and study the revolutionary practice, he approached Marxism-Leninism found the way to save the country and people. With genius intellect and a vision beyond his time, he absorbed and creatively applied Marxism-Leninism to gradually build a theoretical system of the revolution for national liberation in line with the reality of the Vietnamese revolution as well as actively prepared all aspects for the birth of a revolutionary political party.

In 1930, he chaired a conference to establish the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and approve the Party's first political platform, ending the long-lasting crisis in political guideline and organisation of patriotic movements. Since then, the country’s revolution under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV has been steadfast in the path of national liberation associated with class liberation and human liberation, as well as national independence associated with socialism. The Vietnamese revolution overcame countless difficulties and challenges to achieve glorious victories, creating the most brilliant and glorious era in the nation's history — the Ho Chi Minh Era.

They were the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 that led to the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam — the first people-owned state in the nation's history — and set the stage for the long and arduous resistance wars against the French colonialism and American imperialism to unify the country and build socialism. Continuing to promote the revolutionary spirit and historical lessons, the Vietnamese Party initiated and led the people to successfully carry out the process of Doi Moi (Renewal), opening an important turning point in the cause of construction of socialism in the country.

The birth of the CPV as well as the victories of historical and era significance of the Vietnamese revolution in the 20th century affirmed great merit, vision, role, bravery, intelligence, and the prestige of President Ho Chi Minh. Devoting his whole life for the Party and people, he left an extremely valuable ideological heritage for the Party and people, today and in future generations, and was a brilliant example of morality and lifestyle, which have become the ideological foundation and guiding principle for Vietnamese revolution in all historical periods. His extremely rich and great revolutionary career is an invaluable asset to the nation as well as a valuable contribution to the revolutionary cause of oppressed peoples around the world and the development of the ideological and cultural quintessence of humanity.

In grateful for his merits, the whole Party, people, and army vow to be steadfast in the path chosen by beloved Uncle Ho, highly promote revolutionary heroism in the new era, continue to strengthen the country's renewal process, and achieve even greater achievements towards making the country more developed and people's lives more prosperous, while increasingly improving Vietnam’s role and position in the international arena.
